BURI RAM: A 16-year-old female buffalo has taken nature tourism into a new sphere in a village in Chalerm Phra Kiat district of this lower northeastern province -- because its horns form a complete circle around its head.

Tourists have flocked to Ban Nong Chok in tambon Charoensuk -- already designated a one-tambon-one-product (Otop) village for innovation -- after hearing of the buffalo's shapely appendages.

Uthai Sil-anan, chairman of the Charoensuk tambon administration organisation (TAO) and owner of the buffalo, said the horny beast has attracted rings of tourists encircling it for pictures.

He said some people have offered as much as 200,000 baht to buy his beautiful buffalo, but he wouldn't come round -- he squarely turned down all the proposals. He vows to keep her himself until her dying day, although he's happy to let others admire her spectacular bone structure.

"Come to Ban Nong Chok and see the buffalo. You will certainly fall in love with her," Mr Uthai said.
