Vases containing sacred water for the coronation ceremonies of His Majesty the King next month were transported from the 76 provinces to the Interior Ministry in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Provincial governors delivered the vases of sacred water collected earlier in their respective provinces to senior ministry officials for safekeeping.

Governors of central plains and eastern provinces arrived in the morning and those from other regions reached the Interior Ministry in the afternoon.

City Hall is to deliver its vase of sacred water from Sattrakhom hall in the Grand Palace to the Interior Ministry on Friday. The Sattrakhom hall is a venue designated for sanctifying weapons and making holy water.

On April 18, sacred water will be moved to Wat Suthat Thepphawararam for a sanctification ceremony. The following day the water will be delivered to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in the Grand Palace.

The holy water for use in the coronation ceremonies was sourced from 108 locations throughout the country.
