PATTANI: A defence volunteer was shot dead in a drive-by shooting in Kapho district on Tuesday morning as unrest in the deep South shows no sign of abating.
Abdulroman Kajae, 59, of Kapho district, was riding a motorcycle from his house to his workplace in the district when two men on a motorcycle began following him. The pillion ridder fired shots at him on Plong Hoi bridge in Khokwua village, police said.
Pol Capt Veerayut Intharat, deputy investigation chief of Kapho police station, went to the scene after being alerted about the attack on the defence volunteer at about 6.25am.
