Police copter makes emergency landing in Tak

A police helicopter made an emergency landing near a village in Tak's Umphang district on Thursday afternoon after it developed engine trouble.

Thairath Online cited local reports as saying the Bell chopper from Border Patrol Police Unit 34, based at Phra Chao Tak military camp in Tak, was returning from delivering sick people to a village when it developed an engine problem and was forced to put down in a banana plantation near Mong Kua village in tambon Mae Chan of Umphang district at about 3.30pm.

The aircraft sustained some damage and could not continue its flight.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
