Interpol has agreed to issue a blue notice or an international alert to member countries to locate former premier Yingluck Shinawatra, provided the police supply necessary documentation, according to Royal Thai Police office deputy spokesman Krissana Pattanacharoen.
The police earlier sent Interpol the arrest warrant which was issued for Yingluck for failing to turn up at the Supreme Court to hear its ruling in her case. It sentenced her to five years' jail for ignoring irregularities in the rice-pledging scheme. For the blue notice to be issued, however, Interpol needs additional information and documents about Yingluck.
