The Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) launched a 157-page book on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday, detailing his achievements and touting him as a candidate fit to lead the country after the election.

At the book launch, PPRP leader Uttama Savanayana said the book was written for the party's MP candidates and their campaign staff so they have all the relevant information about their party's prime ministerial candidate.

In addition to a list of Gen Prayut's accomplishments as premier, Mr Uttama said that the book also contains Gen Prayut's work and achievements before he came to power in May 2014.

Mr Uttama stressed that the book is not intended as election campaigning material, and as such, won't be distributed to the general public.

"The cost of printing the books -- which comes to about one million baht -- was already included in the list of election campaign expenses," he said. "We have ordered a total of 10,000 copies."

Titled Pracharath Sang Chart -- which means "Pracharath for Nation-building" -- the book contains five chapters tracing the premier's path from May 2014 coup to the present days.

The book includes several quotes from Gen Prayut that reflects his determination to solve the country's problems.

It also contains several infographics to highlight his key initiatives, such as the state welfare programme and the development of the rail network.
