The Election Commission has dropped the complaint for the dissolution of the Future Forward Party over wrong information about its leader’s profile on its website.

Activist Srisuwan Janya earlier asked the EC to look into the alleged wrongdoing, which he claimed misled voters under the MP election law.

The EC commissioners decided on Thursday there was not enough evidence Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit had broken the law.

In his petition, Mr Srisuwan claimed Mr Thanathorn had violated Section 73(5) of the law.

The clause involves prohibited campaigning methods -- deception, coercion, threat, slandering or enticement which leads people to misunderstand about the popularity of a candidate.

Mr Thanathorn’s profile which contained false information was on the website for five months, Mr Srisuwan said.
