Major parties thank supporters

Key figures of the main political parties thanked voters for supporting them and promised to continue to work hard on their behalf.

"On behalf of the Pheu Thai Party, I would like to thank you all for your votes... The party will continue to work hard to bring about happiness to the people and a good economy... People will not be disappointed by their votes for Pheu Thai," said Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, a prime ministerial candidate of Pheu Thai.

"Palang Pracharath is highly grateful for all votes of confidence in us. Our party is a new one. As I have said, we have worked our best because this is a turning point for Thailand," said party leader Uttama Savanayana.

"All votes for the Democrat Party will not be wasted, no matter how the polls turn out. All Democrat representatives value each and every pure vote we have received," said Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Future Forward Party, said the election was only the first step towards sustainable democracy. He asked people to maintain their support for his party in the future.

Sora-at Klinprathum, chief adviser to  Bhumjaithai, thanked supporters for their votes and said the party was likely to receive more votes than the previous election and should win its first House seat in Bangkok.
