Doctor shot dead in Pattani

Pattani: A local physician was shot dead on his way home in Khok Pho district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Doloh Hayeetaye, 59, a doctor at the Tambon Thung Phla Health Promoting Hospital.

The murder in Moo 3 of tambon Thung Phla was reported to Na Pradu police around 7.50pm on Thursday.

Police said he was attacked by at least two men on a motorcycle after departing from a sawmill on his bike. He was killed about 100 metres from his home. 

He sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and head.

Police assumed insurgents were responsible.
