Tripathi Blue of New Delhi retained their Cup crown in the 14th ACST Phuket International Cricket Sixes at the Alan Cooke Ground yesterday.

The Indian club put on a brilliant display of bowling and fielding to restrict Heritage Cricketers of Dhaka, Bangladesh, to just 44 in five overs with Harshit Kaushik, Parvinder Awana and Lokender proving extremely economical.

Harshit also starred for the champions who defeated Tayyarah.com in the semi-final. Heritage Cricketers, who was helped by Pritom Sarkar's superb performance with the bat, saw off the challenge of Gauhati Eagles in the other semi-final.

Tayyarah Rangers won the second-tier Bowl competition, restricting local side Patong Blue to 36-4 with Danish Hussain taking two wickets. The Bangalore debutants reached the target by hammering the runs in just nine balls.

Patong Blue had earlier defeated club mates Patong White in the semi-final while Tayyarah put Southern Stars of Victoria to the sword.

Surfers Paradise Demons, Queensland, claimed the Plate after scoring 65-2 in five overs. The innings contained a fine knock from former first-class player Chris Swan. The total proved just too steep a challenge for CBB Postels.

The final day kicked off with the two remaining Plate group games, which saw the CBB Postels defeat the Demons in a prelude to the title match, while the Queenslanders saw off the challenge of the Gauhati Hawks.
