AP Honda will send Thai riders to take part in the Suzuka 4 Hours endurance race in Japan for a second consecutive year, the company said yesterday.

The three racers are Warit Thongnoppakun, Piyawat Patoomyos and Kritchaporn Kaewsonthi, who competed in the recent Asia Talent Cup.

The participation is aimed at providing them experience on the international stage.

AP Honda president Yoichi Mizutani said last year the company sent an all-Thai team to the event and would do the same this year.

"It was a challenge because the riders, coaches, mechanics and other people in the team are Thais," he told a press conference.

The team, featuring Muklada Salapeuch and Worapong Malahuan, finished fourth last year.

The Suzuka 4 Hours is part of the Endurance World Championships. The event, along with the Suzuka 8 Hours, will be held at the Suzuka International Circuit from July 27-29.

Mizutani said his ultimate aim was to produce Thai riders to compete in MogoGP by 2025.
