Thailand coach Sirisak Yodyardthai on Wednesday named several SCG Muang Thong United players in his initial 35-man squad for the King's Cup despite the Kirins' plea for him not to call up their players.

Muang Thong stars include forwards Teerasil Dangda and Adisak Kraisorn and midfielder Sarach Yooyen.

Struggling Muang Thong, who are currently last in Thai League 1, made the call after they suffered an embarrassing 3-0 home loss to newcomers Samut Prakan.

They claimed their out-of-sorts players could affect the national team's performance in the King's Cup to be held at Buriram United's Chang Arena next month.

The squad will be trimmed to 23 players on May 27 and the training camp will start on May 30.

Thailand will face Vietnam and India take on Curacao on the opening day on June 5.

The winners will meet in the final and the losers play in the third-place play-off on June 8.

Sirisak said he has faith in the players named in the initial squad.

"I and the other staff coaches have been following each and every player and have selected the 35 best players who are doing well with their clubs," said Sirisak.

"Shinnaphat Leeaoh and Supachok Sarachart are not in the list because they will be playing for the Thai U23 team in some warm-up matches at the same time.

"Muang Thong are not doing well in the Thai League but you can't overlook the experience of their players like Sarach and Teerasil. They are all quality players."
