Defending champions Buriram United thrashed PTT Rayong 5-0 in Thai League 1 on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Thunder Castle move to within two points of leaders Port after 13 matches.

Yesterday's match had been postponed due to Buriram's assignment in the AFC Champions League.

At Chang Arena, Salasak Haiprakhon opened the scoring for the hosts after 29 minutes as Buriram took a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The holders ran riot in the second half scoring four unanswered goals through Pedro Junior in the 47th minute, Andres Tunez (56 and 60) and Suphanat Mueanta (66).

Meanwhile, South Korean coach Yoon Jung-Hwan and SCG Muang Thong United have parted ways, the club announced on Wednesday.

In his two-month spell at the former Thai League 1 champions, Yoon only had two wins, two draws and four defeats.

Yoon replaced Phairoj Bovornwattanadilok who quit after a string of poor results.

Muang Thong, who are currently second from last in Thai League 1, said they will unveil their new coach today.

Their new boss is expected to be Alexandre Gama, who has just quit as coach of the Thailand U23 side.
