The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority is planning to launch a mobile application called "City go" to benefit commuters.

Acting BMTA director-general Prayoon Chuaikaew said on Monday that the app would tell users at bus stops how long they would have to wait for their bus. It would also tell them which bus numbers were available at each bus stop and the route each bus would take, he said.

"People will be able to plan their trips well... It will also recommend restaurants on individual routes," Mr Prayoon said.

The City go app would be compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems and be integrated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's smart bus stop project, he said. The BMTA was also interested in inviting private buses to use the app, he said.
