Yellow won't look good on you
if you think it's a cloak of absolution
for any wrongdoings and transgressions
that you commit with great conviction
for it isn't a colour of self-righteousness
Or a get-out-of-jail-free card when you transgress
When you act out of hate
you only add to the stalemate
It's your right to be steadfast in your loyalty
to uphold your belief unwaveringly
but you can't dictate what others think
for when they disagree, they also think
Think back to the great man the colour represents
And the call for compromise and harmony he presented
Are you unintentionally undoing his legacy?
Are you inadvertently advocating hypocrisy?
It's not your job to brutalise
or victimise those you don't like
just because they hold up three fingers
or create artwork you find objectionable
They ask for more democracy
not an invite to tell them to get out of the country
For doing so only produces the reserve effect
and taints the colour you hold sacred
and all that is associated
