Mums

GURU EDITOR'S NOTE

Today is your day but it should be every day

'Cause you do all for us kids without delay

From greeting us with daily flower pictures
to being the most effective alarm clock ever
I'm okay with those flower pictures, really
but the ones with a certain uncle make me uneasy

Thank you for the tea money to get me into good schools
And thousands of baht more for my cram schools
I could never repay you with enough jasmines
And giving you bird's nest would be kinda mean

I view you as a guardian while growing up
but you're more complicated than that as I wise up
A mere mortal with flaws and all you may be
but you have my best interest at heart
and that's enough for me

I promise I won't leave you on read
or roll my eyes whenever you turn red
I can certainly help you out with gadgets
or new tech and apps you don't get
I'll also call you back ASAP
but adding you on Facebook is off limits for me
Sorry ϟ(˵ ͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ ° ˵)ϟ

To me, mums aren't mere homemakers
'Cause they make kings, tycoons and troublemakers

In the words inspired by Beyoncé
Who runs the world?
