Rationing 'truth'
Re: "N Ireland town hit by second night of unrest", (World, June 11) and "Trump deploys Marines, raising tensions in Los Angeles", (World, June 10).
Both articles include similar images of destruction and violence. The situation in Northern Ireland is described by AFP as: "This violence was clearly racially motivated and targeted at our minority ethnic community and police", and "It was racist thuggery, pure and simply, and any attempt to justify it or explain it as something else is misplaced".
But when it comes to Trump, the socialist/communist AFP says the five days of rioting in Los Angeles, which included looting, firebombing, attacks upon immigration officers, graffiti tagging and beatings, were "largely peaceful demonstrations".
They noted with their characteristic political bias, "The unrest was sparked by a sudden intensification of Trump's signature campaign to deport illegal migrants".
AFP strenuously avoids telling the truth. The riots in LA were well organised.
One can find the schedule of protests (riots) to be held across the US on June 14 at NoKings.org.
Protesters are equipped with training and communications equipment, and are told where and when to act and when to move to another location.
California looks to be the target of riots in at least 20 locations.
Politically organised violence could be the last resort of those who are addicted to power but did not get chosen.

Smart deductions
Re: "Bomb note in lavatory sends Air India jet back to Phuket", (BP, June 14).
I would still be laughing up my sleeve if the scenario at Phuket involving the Air India flight weren't so tragic.
How can the Thai police let the suspects go free? Three were identified and supposedly implicated each other.
As a well known inspector in films, I would have done the following:
Have each one rewrite the bomb threat note since each was implicated by the others.
Have each one write the threat in their own handwriting and do a comparison.
Check them to see if they are carrying a writing instrument and compare colour and size of letters to original.
Take their fingerprints since it is clear they must have handled the paper upon which the note was written.

Vaccine plea
Re: "RFK Jr ousts vaccine body amid conflict", (World, June 11).
Robert Kennedy Jr, as US health secretary, has appointed eight replacement vaccine advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel after firing all previous scientific experts.
Is this a misnomer, as many of them could be considered to have adopted anti-vaccine stands and their scientific expertise could be questioned?
For the US, the recent measles outbreaks provide evidence of the need for more vaccines. Measles is not just a case of annoying spots; it can actually kill.
For the rest of the world, the danger lies in both the possible spread of diseases and the lack of support for the development of further vaccines by American scientists.
The world needs better leadership in medicine and medical research.
