The government reported one new imported coronavirus case and no new deaths on Monday, taking the total number of infections to 3,082 with 57 deaths since January.

Thailand has recorded zero new locally-contracted cases for a week, as all new cases were imported from other countries.

Taweesilp Visanuyothin, the spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Monday the country was at a critical juncture as local infections could come if people lowered their guard when more businesses started reopening on Monday.

Some Thais have started not to wear masks and that was a risk, he warned.

More higher-risk businesses will be allowed to reopen if the situation improves and the emergency decree could possibly be ended in July if there are zero new cases, he said.
