Pruksa offers adjustable wall structure for homes

Pruksa Real Estate Plc, the country's largest precast housing developer, is allowing homebuyers to change home functions, cutting or adding rooms for the first time since its establishment in 1993.

Chief executive Piya Prayong said this option is going to be available for more projects later this year. It comes as consumers change their lifestyles during the pandemic, spending more time at home for work.

"For units with this option, the internal wall will not be load-bearing as it needs to be adjustable," said Mr Piya. "Customers can reduce or add rooms as they wish."

Pruksa has applied a load-bearing wall structure or tunnel form for townhouse development since its founding.

In 2004, it built the first precast factory to supply its projects, mainly in Greater Bangkok.

The company has seven precast factories with a combined production capacity of 1,120 units per month.

The home function adjustability was launched last month with Baan Pruksa Rangsit-Thanyaburi 2, a two-storey townhouse project in Khlong 6, Pathum Thani, offering 385 units priced from 1.3 million baht.

The second project with this option is Baan Pruksa Pracha Uthit, slated for next month. Townhouses at both projects have a usable area of between 90-163 square metres.

"Another new trend driven by the pandemic is health and wellness," he said. To capitalise on the trend, Pruksa Holding subsidiary Vimut Hospital is offering healthcare service at residential projects.
