On December 1, 2016, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua accepted an invitation from the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) to ascend the throne. He will be officially crowned in a three-day ceremony held from May 4 to 6, 2019.
