LEADING THE WAY

PM Presides overPM Award 2019’s Ceremony

Initiated in 1992 by former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun, the Prime Minister’s Export Awards (PM Award) are given to Thai companies and service providers. The awards are meant to be tools that help drive Thailand’s economy and draw attention to products of exceptional quality created by dedicated and innovative entities so as to gain trust in the standards of Thai products by means of circular economy and creative economy while maintaining the quality of Thainess and making Thailand a centre of high-quality goods and services.

Amid trade wars and economic issues, the PM Award foster Thai entrepreneurs to further develop the quality of their products and services. Indeed, the awards in no small part contribute to the country’s export performance. They encourage Thai entrepreneurs to develop their own trade names and earn creditworthiness in the world arena. Helping to support this success is the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) consistent backing of both the companies and the awards.

This year, 652 companies applied and 34 awards were presented. These winners are divided into 7 categories; Best Exporter, Best Innovation, Best Thai Brand, Best Design, Best Service Enterprise Award, Best OTOP and Best Halal.

The Prime Minister’s Export Awards 2019 were presented on 26 August 2019, at the Santi Maitree Building, Office of the Prime Minister, Bangkok. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister, gave the awards to the winners in 7 categories while Mr. Jurin Laksanavisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, conveyed the Ministry’s congratulations.
