Marking the Swedish National Day on 6 June, the Thai-Swedish community proudly celebrates the close relations between Sweden and Thailand!

2019 – 30 years of strong trade relations.

Dear Readers,

Today is the Swedish National Day and we proudly celebrate our country’s and our people’s close relations with Thailand. In 2019, we continue to extend our celebration of the 150th anniversary of the signing of our first Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between Thailand and Sweden.

This year, it has also been 30 years since HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HM Queen Silvia inaugurated the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce here in Bangkok. Since its establishment, the Chamber has been continuously focusing on creating activities and opportunities to empower the growing Thai-Swedish business community.

Swedish technology and innovation contribute to creating job opportunities in Thailand 4.0 and strengthening Thailand’s position as the hub of the South East Asian region. Prominent in sustainability, Swedish companies help push the boundaries with their high-quality and innovation solutions towards a more sustainable future.

Throughout the whole year, the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce organizes a series of events to mark the occasion to under the theme of sustainability. These include beach clean-up plogging, sustainability symposium and the smart city themed Swedish Pavilion at the OCSC International Education Expo in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden - open to everyone to join. These activities will help enhance the warm and great ties between the Swedish and Thai people.
