Leaders Port suffered another setback on Saturday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw by hosts Nakhon Ratchasima in Thai League 1.

Port extended their lead over second-placed Chiang Rai United to three points and are six points ahead of third-ranked Buriram United but the Thunder Castle have three games in hand.

In wet conditions at Nakhon Ratchasima due to a heavy downpour, Pakorn Premsak gave the visitors the lead after 77 minutes.

But the Swat Cats equalised in injury time when Doumbia Henri scored from the penalty spot.

Port had been reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute when Adisorn Daeng-rueng received his second yellow card.

It was Port's second successive draw after they were held 1-1 at home by True Bangkok United last week.

At Thung Thalay Luang Stadium, hosts Sukhothai beat Chainat 2-0.

Goals from Iain Ramsay in the 34th minute and John Baggio in the 42nd minute finished off the visitors.

At Trat, newcomers Trat continued their good run in their first season in the top flight by hammering Chiang Rai United 3-1.

The home team raced to a 3-0 lead at half-time with goals from their African stars.

Nigeria's Adelolarin Durosinmi scored twice in the 12th and 45th minutes, and Guinea's Lonsana Doumbouya added the other after 15 minutes.

The visitors did well in the second half but could only get a consolation goal through Bill Rosimar in the 79th minute.

Meanwhile, Buriram United host bitter rivals SCG Muang Thong United today.

While defending champions Buriram are near the top of the table, Muang Thong are at the bottom.

It could be South Korean Yoon Jong-Hwan's last game as coach of Muang Thong as it is reported that the Kirins will replace him with Thailand U23 boss Alexandre Gama.

Sanrawat withdraws

True Bangkok United midfielder Sanrawat Detchmitr has pulled out of the national side for the King's Cup after being banned for eight matches in Thai League 1.

The 29-year-old is one of the 35 players in the 35-man provisional squad for the King's Cup to be held at Buriram United's Chang Arena from June 5-8.

Sanrawat is serving an eight-match suspension after punching the referee, who sent him off during last week's Thai League 1 match at Port.

"I don't have any excuse for the incident. I was at fault as I could not control my temper. I want to apologise to all the parties involved. This should not have happened. It is a big lesson for me and I promise that it will not happen again," he said.

"I think I should withdraw from the national team because of my behaviour. I don't want to be a bad example for young players."

The four-team event features Thailand, India, Vietnam and Curacao.
