Thailand's top striker Teerasil Dangda on Thursday left for Japan to discuss details of his expected move to J-League club Shimizu S-Pulse.
The news of new J-League club Shimizu S-Pulse's interest in the Thailand and SCG Muang Thong United striker has been doing the rounds in the local football circles for a few days now.
The Japanese club has reportedly negotiated a full-time move for Teerasil with Muang Thong United. The veteran Thai forward spent a year in Japan in 2018 when he had a loan spell at another J-League side, Hiroshima Sanfrecce.
The 31-year-old Thailand striker is now attempting to reach a personal agreement with Shimizu S-Pulse before he can be officially unveiled as a new signing of the club.
Teerasil has the experience of playing for a number of clubs abroad such as Manchester City in England (2007-08), Grasshopper Zurich in Switzerland (2008), UD Almeria in Spain (2014-15) and Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan (2018).
Mostly recently, he helped Hiroshima finish runners-up in the 2018 J-League, scoring six goals in 32 matches with the Japanese club.
Chaba Kaew's mission
Thailand women's team have left for Myanmar to play two warm-up games to prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualifying event in China next month.
The Thai team are led by experienced players like Kanchana Sang-ngoen, Taneekarn Dangda and Sunisa Srangthaisong.
Chaba Kaew coach Naruepol Kaenson coach plans to use the Myanmar warm-ups as final selection trials for the players.
"We will cut down the number of players to final 20 after this game with Myanmar as there are a number of talented youth in the team," said Naruepol.
The Chaba Kaew will depart for Nanjing on Jan 30 for the pre-Olympic tournament, where they face a tough task against Australia, hosts China and Taiwan in Group B battles.
