Thailand midfielder Sarach Yooyen has vowed to help his new team BG Pathum United win some sort of silverware and end their barren run at the top level soon.
Sarach told a gathering at his official unveiling yesterday that he was also keen to impress the Blue Machine fans.
Sarach completed his move from former Thai League 1 champions SCG Muang Thong United to the Pathum Thani-based club earlier this week.
"I am very happy to have joined BG Pathum United as I have many friends in this team," said the 27-year-old star. "I am also feeling a bit sad at leaving Muang Thong United -- I was with them for quite a long time.
"I had been looking for a fresh challenge, a club hungrier for titles, so I decided to join BG Pathum United after discussing the move with my family and agent.
"I have seen that they have improved a lot. They were relegated to the second tier but it took them only one year to get back to the top flight and they have been strengthening their squad since.
"I want to help my new team get some good results and I also want to impress their fans with my game and commitment.
"My goal is to help BG Pathum United win at least one tournament soon, be it the FA Cup, the League Cup or Thai League 1."
On Wednesday, BG Pathum United added former Buriram United defender Andres Tunez to their squad.
Tunez parted ways with former Thai League 1 champions Buriram last month after spending almost six years at the northeastern club.
"I am here to win the Thai League title," Tunez said on Wednesday. "I have faced BG Pathum in the past as an opponent and know how strong they are."
BG Pathum and Port are joint third in the league, two points behind leading duo Bangkok United and Ratchaburi.
Thai League 1, halted in early March due to the Covid-19 outbreak, is scheduled to restart on Sept 12.
