German rider Nikodemus Holler was crowned champion of the 2020 Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup Tour of Thailand as Bike Aid completed a double success at the country's elite cycling event in Surat Thani on Sunday.

Holler, of Bike Aid team, claimed the overall title and the pink jersey with a total time of 22:37.35 hours and received the trophy graciously donated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

National team cyclist Sarawut Sirironnachai, of the Thailand Continental Cycling team, took second place, finishing with a total time of 22:38.10 hours, 35 seconds behind overall champion Holler.

Sarawut, who won three gold medals at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, received the green jersey for winning the points race. He also took the polka-dot jersey for mountain points.

Bike Aid also took the team title with a total time of 67:57.21 hours to seal a double while the second place went to Thailand Continental Cycling team with a time of 67:59.21 hours.

Yuttana Mano, a national team cyclist, clocked 3:26.27 hours to win yesterday's 142.30km sixth and final stage that started at Surat Thani's City Pillar Shrine and ended at Ratchaprapa Dam yesterday.

Nattapol Jumchat, of All Star Thailand team, came second while Noppachai Klahan, also a national team rider, took the third place.

National team coach Visoot Kasiyapat said he was happy with the second-place finish in the presence of some world-class riders in the tour.

"We knew that it would be difficult to win this event because we were up against some world-class riders," said Visoot.

"But we certainly gave them [German riders] a good fight."

The Women's Tour of Thailand will be held on Oct 14-16. The 261.90km race will take place in Surat Thani and will be shown live daily on Thai PBS's Facebook and YouTube accounts, starting at 8.45am.
