True Bangkok United have appointed Australia's Daniele Invincibile as their interim coach, the Thai League 1 club said yesterday.

The former footballer, who previously was coach of Bangkok United's B team, began his new role yesterday as the capital team will travel to Nakhon Ratchasima on Saturday.

His appointment came after Mano Polking announced his resignation at the weekend following a string of poor results.

Bangkok United suffered a 5-4 home loss to Sukhothai on Sunday for their fourth defeat in a row.

They were joint leaders with a perfect record after four games before the campaign was suspended in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But since the campaign resumed last month, Bangkok United have earned only one point from five matches.

After nine games, they are seventh on 15 points, eight behind leaders BG Pathum United.

Meanwhile, Brazilian coach Alexandre Gama is set to make a return to Buriram United after he parted ways with SCG Muang Thong United at the weekend.

Buriram are looking for a new coach after Bozidar Bandovic's departure at the weekend.

Gama guided Buriram to two league, one FA Cup and one League Cup titles during his first stint with the Thunder Castle from 2014-2016.

He also steered Chiang Rai United to their first league title last season before joining Muang Thong.

Muang Thong have already named their former player Mario Gjurovski as their new coach.

Muang Thong are 11th in the 16-team Thai League 1 with 10 points, just four above the relegation zone and one behind Buriram.
