Nakhon Ratchasima's Pralong Sawandee celebrates his goal against Police Tero with teammates.

Nakhon Ratchasima gave their new executive chairman, former Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Worawi Makudi, a winning start, edging Police Tero 1-0 in a Thai League 1 home game on Sunday night.

Pralong Sawandee struck for Nakhon Ratchasima in the 22nd minute which proved enough to give the Swat Cats their first win of the new season after losing both of their opening two games.

Worawi, a former Fifa executive member who helmed the national governing body for the sport for eight years until 2016, took over the club's top office on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PT Prachuap wasted a two-goal upper hand to settle for a 2-2 draw at Suphanburi.

Prachuap were given the lead after 18 minutes when Willen Mota found the net.

The visitors doubled their advantage 20 minutes into the second half with Saharat Pongsuwan grabbing a goal that should have deflated the home team's hopes of kick-starting a recovery.

However, Suphanburi continued to pile pressure and their efforts paid off when they narrowed the deficit in the 70th minute through Ratchanat Arunyapairot.

There was another shock in store for Prachuap as they saw Danilo Alves grab the leveller four minutes later.
