Thai League 1 side BG Pathum United look set to continue their unbeaten run in Group G of the AFC Champions League when they face United City from the Philippines today.

In today's other Group G match, Australia's Melbourne City take on South Korea's Jeonnam Dragons.

Group G games are being played at Pathum Stadium in Pathum Thani.

Pathum have four points from two games while United City are still looking for their first point.

"We want to show off our quality in this vital fixture," BG coach Makoto Teguramori said yesterday.

"We want to be consistent in our performances particularly in attack."

However, the Japanese warned his men not to underestimate United City although they have suffered two defeats in as many games in the group.

Pathum defender Jakkapan Praisuwan said he felt more confident after scoring a goal in the team's 2-0 win against Jeonnam in the previous game.

The Rabbits lost on penalties to South Korea's Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the last 16 round last season and Jakkapan said the players had gained experience from the setback. "It proves we can compete with Asia's best. It is also a motivation for us to do better this year," he said.

United City coach Jason Withe is familiar with Thai football, having coached several Thai clubs.

"I know a lot about the team [Pathum]. They are always a strong team," said the Englishman, son of former England striker and ex-Thailand coach Peter Withe.

"Obviously, they have the home advantage, and it's going to be another difficult game for us. We're starting to feel the effect of fatigue kick in."
