ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has become one of the newest promoters of the esteemed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Last week, the Royal Thai Army -- which owns the Muay Thai landmark -- sent Chatri an official invitation to become a promoter at the stadium, which he accepted with open arms.

"I would like to give a special thank you to Army commander Narongpan Jitkaewthae, Gen Suchart Dangprapai, Gen Ronawud Ruengsawat, and Gen Vasan Phungsampao for this precious opportunity," he said.

"In many ways, my life has come full circle. My late father introduced me to Muay Thai when I was nine years old, taking me often to Lumpinee Stadium to watch fights. It remains one of my favourite memories from my childhood."

After training and professionally competing in Muay Thai, Chatri took those childhood memories and turned them into ONE Championship, the largest martial arts organisation in the world, where he now promotes MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling fights.

However, Muay Thai has always held a special place in his heart, and being invited to promote at Lumpinee Stadium will give him the opportunity to give back to the sport that has given him everything.

"As a proud Thai citizen, I am full of gratitude and appreciation for the chance to serve my country and elevate the beautiful art of Muay Thai," he said.

"As CEO of ONE, I hope to work with all athletes, gym owners, and promoters of the Muay Thai industry in Thailand and around the world to build a prosperous future together. We Are ONE."

The details of the agreement will be announced at a press conference on Sept 12 at Lumpinee Stadium.
