BG Pathum United midfielders Worachit Kanitsribumphen and Pathompon Charoenrattanapirom have agreed to play for the Thai League 1 side Port in the second leg of this season.

Worachit Kanitsribumphen, 25, had joined the Rabbits during the second leg of the last season from Chonburi and played a pivotal role as the club finished the league in second place.

In this season, the midfielder had 21 starts from a possible 25 games and scored five goals in all competitions.

Worachit was also a key member of the Pathum side that reached the quarter-finals of this year's AFC Champions League.

Pathompon, 28, had moved to Pathum United in the second leg of the 2020 season and helped the Rabbits claim their first-ever Thai League 1 title in the same season.

The winger later played a key role in the club's back-to-back Thailand Champions Cup winning success.

Pathompon had featured 73 times for BG Pathum United, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions before joining Port for the second leg of this season.

Port chairwoman Nualphan Lamsam said at the official unveiling of Worachit and Pathompon: "Everyone knows how talented and skilful these two players are.

"A number of teams were interested in the two midfielders, but there exists a good relationship between Port and the BG Pathum United, especially between myself and BG chairman Pawin Bhirombhakdi, which made this deal possible.

"I would like to thank Pawin for releasing these two players to us after they opted to join our team.

"I believe that Port will now have a strong squad for the second leg, and I hope that our fans will welcome and support both Pathompon and Worachit."

Apart from shipping the two midfielders to Port, BG Pathum United also confirmed that Saharat Pongsuwan and Brazilian forward Paulo Conrado had been loaned to PT Prachuap for the second leg.

The action in the top flight will resume on Jan 21.
