Thailand have been drawn against Asean rivals Malaysia and the Philippines in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 qualifiers.

Bangladesh are the other team in Group H after the official draw was made yesterday at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Thailand will host all the matches in a single round-robin format from Sept 4-12.

Defending champions Saudi Arabia are in Group J with Cambodia, Lebanon and Mongolia.

Qatar, who will host the tournament next year, are in Group B with South Korea, Myanmar and Krygyzstan. They will play the qualifiers for exposure with their matches classified as friendlies.

The teams were divided into 11 groups -- 10 groups of four teams each, with the last group containing three.

The 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams among all groups will qualify for next year's tournament.

They will join Qatar, who have received automatic qualification as hosts, to form the final cast of 16 at the tournament, to be played from April 15-May 3.
