Treble winners Buriram United have axed forward Jonathan Bolingi after he helped the Thunder Castle beat Bangkok United 2-0 in the FA Cup final on Sunday.
The Congolese forward scored both goals but his heroics were marred by his dismissal for grabbing an opponent's neck during a brief altercation towards the end of the match.
"Jonathan Bolingi is a good player but he will not be continuing his career with the team next season because of his behaviour," said Buriram chairman Newin Chidchob.
He said this was not the first time that the player did something like this in friendly and competitive matches.
"He cannot control himself and we cannot control him. He cannot stay here because of his behaviour. He has tarnished the image of the club in particular and Thai football in general.
"I told him to change his behaviour but it seems he cannot do it."
Meanwhile, Buriram coach Masatada Ishii said he was happy that his team swept three trophies for two consecutive seasons.
"We met the target," said the Japanese.
The Thunder Castle had won the Thai League 1 and League Cup titles.
"Bangkok United are a quality team. I feel more happy as we defeated them without conceding a goal," Ishii said.
"Before the season started, we tar- geted winning three trophies for two consecutive years and now we did it. This is a present for our fans."
He singled out Thailand forward Supachai Chaided as his best player.
"Supachai is the best player. He is a striker but also helps defend our goal," he said.
Supachai was the league's top scorer with 19 goals, one more than Prachuap striker Samuel Rosa Goncalves' tally.
He said Buriram plan to bring in new foreign players for the domestic and continental fronts.
Bangkok United, meanwhile, are still looking for their first major trophy.
The Angels also finished second behind Buriram in Thai League 1 in the 2022-23 season.
