Japan-based Chanathip Songkrasin and Supachok Sarachart have been called up to the Thai national team for two warm-up matches later this month.

The War Elephants will play in Taiwan on June 16 and in Hong Kong on June 19.

Chanathip plays for Kawasaki Frontale while Supachok is with Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo.

Playmaker Chanathip, 29, is regarded as one of Thailand's best players.

He chose not to play for the national side in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup won by Thailand earlier this year.

Chanathip has rarely been picked to play at Kawasaki.

Other players in the squad include Chatchai Butprom, Peerapat Notechaiya, Kritsada Kaman, Elias Dolah, Nicolas Mickelson, Sarach Yooyen, Phitiwat Sukjitthammakul, Thitiphan Puangchan, Worachit Kanitsribumphen, Teerasil Dangda and Teerasak Poeiphimai.

Thailand coach Mano Polking did not call up Buriram United players.

The Thunder Castle said they would not release their players because they needed rest after they had played, and won, three competitions.

When they return, they have to prepare for the AFC Champions League, the club said.

Buriram's key players include forward Supachai Chaided, the Thai League 1 top scorer, and defender Theerathon Bunmathan.

"Some players want to rest after a long and hard season. It's important for them to rest," Polking said.

"But we still have many quality players.

"I believe the team is strong and will do well in the matches."
