Thailand go into their final group stage game of the Asean Boys' U19 Championship against Malaysia in Surabaya, Indonesia, today seeking a victory that will be help them avoid a semi-final clash with mighty Australians.
The Thais were guaranteed a place in the last four of the tournament when hosts Indonesia defeated Timor Leste 6-2 in their last match of Group A match on Tuesday night.
The match between Thailand and Malaysia will have the group winners' title at stake. The top-ranked side in the group will face Indonesia and the runners-up will take on Australia in the semi-finals.
Thailand goalkeeper Kittipong Boonmak said before a training session yesterday that the team have "yet to find our rhythm. There are several things we need to improve.
"Although we have qualified for the semi-finals, we will be going for a victory over Malaysia because this has been our target.
"We are ready to play any team in the semi-final and we are hoping to win this tournament.
"Every game is difficult because our opponents want to beat us as well."
The match will kick off 3pm at GBT Stadium and will be televised live on AIS Play.

Norway's Erling Haaland, wearing the City captain's armband for the first time, nodded home an equaliser in the 57th minute only for Honduran international Palma to tap in the winning goal on a breakaway at the University of North Carolina's Kenan Memorial Stadium.
