Young skateboarder Vareeraya Sukasem will be the woman flag bearer for Thailand at the opening ceremony of the Paris Games, said Thana Chaiprasit, chief of the Thai delegation.
Vareeraya will join sprinter Puripol Boonson as the Thai flag bearers for today's ceremony along the Seine river.
At 12 years old, Vareeraya will make history when she becomes Thailand's youngest ever Olympian.
She will begin her competition on Sunday.
Puripol, meanwhile, will take part in the men's 100-metre competition on Aug 3.
