Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, president of the Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT), extended her support to the Thai badminton team as they compete in the Macau Open 2024. The event also marks the 25th anniversary of badminton tournaments in Macau.
In addition to her role as BAT president, Khunying Patama is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and vice president of the Badminton World Federation. She visited Macau to offer encouragement to the Thai athletes competing in the Macau Open, a World Tour Super 300 event.
Khunying Patama was also invited to a gala dinner celebrating the 25th anniversary of badminton tournaments in Macau, an event recognised as a key fixture on the global badminton calendar. The celebrations coincided with two significant milestones - the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The festivities underscored Macau's growing prominence as a global sports hub and highlighted the historic ties between China and Macau.
During the event, Khunying Patama expressed her congratulations and joined in celebrating these important milestones, reflecting both the sporting achievements of Macau and its enduring pride in its history and unity with China.
