Martin Boakye and Suphanat Mueanta scored hat-tricks as defending Thai League 1 champions Buriram United went on a goal-scoring spree to thrash Khon Kaen United 9-0 at home on Sunday night.

The Thunder Castle also saw two-goal Guilherme Bissoli and Ratthanakorn Maikami get on the scoresheet.

Khon Kaen suffered a big setback in the 78th minute when Tinnakorn Asurin was sent off following a second yellow card warning for a foul on Boakye.

Meanwhile, Ratchaburi claimed three points from their home game against Muang Thong United with a 1-0 victory.

In the other matches, hosts Rayong pulled off a big upset by beating PT Prachuap 3-2 and Nakhon Ratchasima edged visiting Uthai Thani 3-2.
