The appointment aims to ensure the successful and efficient organisation of the regional sporting event. Khunying Patama's extensive experience in international sports governance is expected to contribute significantly to the preparation and execution of the games.

Other appointments include the deputy minister of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the president of the TV Cameraman and Reporter Association of Thailand, who will serve as committee members.
