Buriram United coach Osmar Loss Vieira has already worked out a ploy to get the better of Singapore's Lion City Sailors in their Asean Club Championship or Shopee Cup Group A away clash Thursday night.

The Thai League 1 champions are in second place with six points -- three behind leaders Cong An Hanoi of Vietnam -- ahead of their fourth group stage game at Jalan Besar Stadium. The Sailors are three points further adrift.

The results of Thursday's group games will have a strong bearing on the Thunder Castle's chances of making it to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Buriram are tied on six points with Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur City, who take on leaders Cong An, the Vietnamese club that are enjoying a perfect run with three straight wins.

Osmar told a pre-match news conference on Wednesday that his men were in a confident mood.

"We had a good win in the Thai league on the weekend, so the level of our confidence is high at the moment," said the Brazilian coach.

"Of course, it will be a different game from the Thai league with the pressure being much higher.

"We must respect our opponents, and we will be playing as an away team here. However, we are looking forward to a victory in this game.

"Lion City Sailors are a very good team and have a good style of play. They can still qualify for the semi-finals. We have studied their game and have a plan ready for the match.

"Yesterday, we trained on an artificial pitch and our players were able to adjust to the surface quite well.

"I think it will be an exciting match, though my expectations are quite high. I want to win every tournament that the team play.

"We have strengthened our team for the Thai League 1 second leg and have some quality foreign players in the squad now. With a quota system in place, we need to find the right balance in the team."

In the other Group A game on Thursday, Indonesia's Borneo Samarinda will take on Kaya FC of the Philippines.
