Men's doubles players Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Kittinupong Kedren booked their berth in the second round of the US$240,000 (approx 8,160,000 baht) Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2025 at Nimibutr Stadium on Tuesday.

The Thai pair defeated William Kryger Boe and Christian Faust Kjaer of Denmark 21-9, 21-19. They will play Rahmat Hidayat and Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan of Indonesia in the last 16 of the World Tour Super 300 event on Thursday.

Another men's doubles pair Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn and Worrapol Thongsa-Nga progressed with a 21-17, 21-19 win over Low Hang Yee and Ng Eng Cheong of Malaysia, while women's doubles duo Laksika Kanlaha and Phataimas Muenwong also advanced with a two-game win over Paulina Hankiewicz and Kornelia Marczak of Poland.

Women's doubles champions Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard were due to begin their title defence later on Tuesday.

Local big names begin their campaign on Wednesday, with top seed Pornpawee Chochuwong facing Thuzar Thet Htar of Myanmar and second seed Ratchanok Intanon taking on qualifier Nutnalin Rattanapanuwong in the women's singles event.

In the men's singles event, Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul and Kantaphon Wangcharoen will face off in an all-Thai first round clash.

The tournament lost top seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn, who pulled out of the men's singles event on Monday.

Ratchanok back in top 10

Ratchanok Intanon has returned to the world's top 10 after the latest BWF world ranking was released on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old, who won the Indonesia Masters on Sunday, has moved up from 13th to 10th this week with 63,613 points.

The win in Jakarta was her first title in 10 months.

Men's world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn, who also won the title on Sunday, remained fifth in the men's singles rankings. Other Thai players in the women's singles top 10 are Supanida Katethong at No.6 and Pornpawee Chochuwong at No.8.

Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran continue to rise in the mixed doubles rankings, surging to 19th this week.
