Bangkok United fought back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw with Rayong FC in the Thai League 1 at True Stadium on Friday night.
A Mahmoud Eid double earned a point for the Angels, who now have 44 points from 21 games, seven behind leaders Buriram United.
Joen Hae-Min fired Rayong ahead after just 10 minutes and the visitors doubled their lead with a goal from Myanmar striker Lwin Moe Aung on 28 minutes.
Bangkok United got back into the game six minutes later when Eid scored from a long throw from Pratama Arhan.
Eid got his second on the night as he headed home an equaliser from a Richairo Zivkovic cross on 58 minutes.
Bangkok United stepped up the pressure as they searched for the winner but Rayong held on for a precious away point.
"We conceded the goals too easily and it was difficult to come back from two goals down," admitted Angels coach Totchtawan Sripan.
"Also, we rotated players in this game because we have a tough match against Sydney FC in the AFC Champions League Two next week," he added.
Bangkok United will visit the Australian side in the AFC Champions League Two on Wednesday.
