
Phuket: Saranporn Katesuwan and Tunrada Piddon secured the two local spots while Louise Uma Lundgraf claimed the international player quota for the Blue Canyon Ladies Championship 2025 as the national qualifying competition concluded at the Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket on Sunday.
The trio punched their tickets to the KLPGA Tour's season-opening tournament after excelling in the a 36-hole stroke play qualifier at the 6,550-yard, par-72 landscape.
First round leader Saranporn, a promising young pro from Satun, carded a one-over-par 73 to finish the two-day qualifier on three-under-par 141.
She shared the top spot with Thai-French teenager Lundgraf, who fired a four-under-par 68 on the final day.
Tunrada, who also finished with a 73, grabbed the other Thai spot with a total score of four-over-par 148.
The Blue Canyon Ladies Championship 2025 is scheduled to take place between March 13-16, marking the second consecutive year the event is being held in Thailand.
This year's edition comes with added prestige as the KLPGA Tour's season opener, featuring an increased US$800,000 prize purse (approximately 27.65 million baht), up from $650,000 last year. The format has also been expanded from three rounds (54 holes) to a four-day, 72-hole battle at the renowned Blue Canyon Country Club.
