Hosts add four more golds to Asian road racing haul

Thai cyclists won four more gold medals on the third day of the 44th Asian Road Cycling Championships in Phichit on Sunday.

National cyclist Chanpeng Nontasin made history after clocking 15.14.934 minutes to win the 10.70km women's individual time trial master 40-44-year-old category.

With the victory, Chanpeng has claimed titles in three levels -- junior, elite and master -- in the championships.

Singapore's Evangeline Ivy Tan took the silver medal in 16.02.220 minutes and Pakistan's Zainab Rizwan won bronze in 17.33.719 minutes.

Napassorn Panyawuthikrai won the gold medal in the women's master 35-39-year-old event with a time of 14.44.599 minutes. Lam Kong of Hong Kong took the silver medal, clocking 16.35.652 minutes and the bronze medal went to Yu Yik Man of Hong Kong in 17.07.790 minutes.

Rungnapha Kuson earned the third gold for Thailand after she won the women's master 30-34-year-old event in 14.54.248 minutes. Iraqi cyclist Dahat Qadr took silver in 15.28.023 minutes.

Atistiya Pidtanung made it four for Thailand as she topped the podium in the women's master 45-49-year-old event in 16.31.794 minutes. Mongolian cyclist Erdenetuya Dorchimed came second in 17.13.637 minutes.
