True Move H Universal Communication (TUC), the country's second largest mobile operator by subscriber base, has joined hands with short-video platform TikTok to launch the first virtual game show using the carrier's studio to support new digital lifestyles and attract new content creators.

The virtual game show 'True 5G Presents TikTok Game Night' will be held at True 5G XR studio.

Piroon Paireepairit, head of 5G working group of True Corporation, the parent company of TUC, said the move caters to the new lifestyle of the digital generation.

He said the company established the studio with the intention of creating a central platform for digital content in the country to enhance the country's content industry, particularly immersive and high-definition content which has become a market trend.

Mr Piroon said its 5G technology not only supports vertical industries but also can potentially serve digital content and solutions for the mass market in this digital era.

The virtual game show will demonstrate the potential of True's studio that could drive the country's content industry, he said.

"The collaboration will help strengthen content creators with more extensive skills, pushing them to become real professionals who can stand out in the industry," said Mr Piroon.

It also draws the power of the two parties with the combination of True's strong 5G network and the gathering of key opinion leaders of TikTok as the content creators, he said.

The Game Night will present a fun and exciting experience with the presence of TikTok stars playing dice rolling.

The show will be live-streamed on TikTok Live every other Friday from 6-7pm, starting on Oct 1.

Another special channel also runs popular clips from creators who provide entertainment with 'TikTok Extra' via application and the TrueID website.

To support TikTok creators, there will be a workshop to enhance their knowledge and skills for content production through virtual technology at True 5G XR studio, he said.

Surayot Aimlaor, head of consumer marketing at TikTok, said TikTok is determined to provide a new entertainment experience for audiences.

The collaboration with TUC is part of TikTok's move to help develop the Thai content industry to the next level along with providing new entertainment content which is fun, entertaining, inspiring and creates positive energy, Mr Surayot said.

It will be a push to make new creators broadly known among audiences and help them sharpen their skills in creating content as professionals via various projects under this collaboration, he said.
