Daol Digital Partner, a technology firm under Daol (Thailand), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with InterOpera to strategically collaborate on providing digital asset services in Thailand.

Daol Digital Partner will design and deliver products and services related to blockchain technology and smart contracts, while InterOpera will secure blockchain infrastructure and provide tokenisation service solutions. This will assist Thai companies in raising funds by issuing investment tokens backed by their revenue-generating projects, or offer the right to access the privileges via the utility tokens issued.

Thailand is already home to one of the most promising markets in Southeast Asia for digital assets. There has been a steady and broad-based adoption of digital assets since the enactment of the Digital Asset Decree in 2018, which lists digital assets as a new asset class to be regulated under Thai law, covering cryptocurrencies and innovative digital tokens.

"We will spearhead the group in providing a range of digital asset services in response to strong demand among Thai investors. Joining forces with InterOpera will expedite our speed to market with reliable technology infrastructure," said Isara Pudtalsri, Daol (Thailand)'s representative at the MoU signing ceremony.

Will Lee, founder and chief executive of InterOpera, said the strategic collaboration with Daol (Thailand) was a major milestone.

He said: "It reinforces our belief that financial markets can be more inclusive and realises our vision to build connectivity across capital markets in Asia and beyond."
