King appoints new Lord Chamberlain

His Majesty the King has appointed a new Lord Chamberlain of the Royal Household Bureau and a new director-general of the Crown Property Bureau to replace Chirayu Israngkun Na Ayuthaya after he was appointed a member of the Privy Council.

In one of the two royal commands published in the Royal Gazette, His Majesty the King announced he has made Mr Chirayu a member of the Privy Council, which advises him.

The royal command was counter-signed by Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda.

Prior to the appointment, Mr Chirayu served in the two coveted aforementioned roles.

In the other royal command, His Majesty the King appointed Satitpong Sukvimol to succeed Mr Chirayu as the Lord Chamberlain and the chief of the Crown Property Bureau.

The royal commands took effect immediately.

Mr Chirayu was a long-time chief of the Crown Property Bureau and was appointed as Lord Chamberlain in September 2016 to succeed Kaewkwan Vajarothai, who died of heart failure on Sept 15 at the age of 88.
