Drug smuggler nabbed in Nakhon Phanom

The army has arrested a drug peddler in Nakhon Phanom province, confiscating 630,000 amphetamine pills.

Acting on a tip-off, Maj Gen Prasit Thanthawong of Second Army Legion led a crackdown and arrested Thaotui Saiyawong, a Laotian, on a road in Na Thom district.

Mr Thaotui confessed to selling drugs. He told police that he helped smuggle drugs for a cartel in Laos to send to dealers in Thailand.

He also gave the name of Thai accomplice, Siho Konkan, a former local administrator at Nong Son Tambon Local Administration in Na Thom District.

The police also arrested Mr Siho who admitted that he had helped coordinate the operation.
