PRACHIN BURI: A woman, believed to have drowned, was found dead in a pond by her house in Kabin Buri district late on Saturday night, police said.

Suwan Khamkaew, 63, returned from work to his house at Ban Nong Pradu in tambon Khao Mai Kaew on Saturday night to find no sign of his wife, Nudaeng, 52, according to Pol Lt Thammanoon Khonongbuakhong, a duty officer at Kabin Buri police station.

Mr Suwan looked for her in the area around the house and found her sandals floating in the pond.

Police and a rescue unit went to the house and four divers scoured for Mrs Nudaeng in the pond. They found her body at about 11.30pm.

Mr Suwan believed his wife, who had a health problem and could not walk steadily, had fallen into the pond and drowned.
