Sarinee's hearing on Oct 11

The Supreme Court's Election Cases Division will rule on a contempt-of-court case against writer and social critic Sarinee Achavanuntakul on Oct 11.

It stems from a newspaper column she wrote that was published in Krungthepturakij  newspaper on May 14.

In the column, she commented on the court's disqualification of a Sakhon Nakhon Future Forward Party election candidate for holding media shares in a limited partnership in March.

Mr Supradit alleged that Ms Sarinee's comments were an "inaccurate" account of the case and an "unfair" criticism which amounted to contempt of court under the law.

Krungthepturakij newspaper editor Yutthana Nuancharas was also named as a second defendant in the case.
